Who is the lead photographer and who is the second shooter?

We are husband and wife team and Ilya (husband) is the only lead photographer we offer. In most weddings Ines works as a second shooter. However, if she is not available, we have a few wonderful second photographers we work with regularly, during the wedding day he/she also assists the lead photographer if hired.

What covers second photographer and how many hours second photographer covers?

Second photographer covers some candid preparation shots, ceremony and the beginning of reception (up to 6 hours) within the coverage of lead photographer. All the important moments for the most creative shots are covered by the lead photographer (Ilya) and the second shooter takes photos mostly from the distance (candid shots). Please note that lead and second photographers do not split during the wedding day. For example if groom’s preparation is not in the same location as bride’s we will cover his preparation at the ceremony site instead of having a second shooter go to groom’s location for covering 10-15 minutes of preparation shots. This is our approach and it’s been successful and effective for everyone.
